I bought the OLPRO Beckford Lightweight 2-person tent on Amazon for around £130 a few months back. I’ve used it as my main solo-use tent for wild camping recently (around Scotland), and it’s holding up very well.

I’ve camped with this tent during stormy rain and wind, no leaks or wet corners, completely dry inside. During summer evenings I’ve never had condensation issues; I would usually keep the outer tent open and have the fly zipped shut to keep midges/bugs away.
⭐ Rating: 4.5/5
The 2-person spec is a bit generous, I’d call it a roomy 1-person tent. Two people can fit, it’ll be quite snug so maybe great for a couple. I mainly use it for solo camping, with my gear & 65L bag inside the tent.
Setting up this tent is easy once you’ve done it a couple of times, like most tents.
I’m giving it such a high rating since I personally think it’s a great tent. It’s often compared to the OEX Phoxx II, another popular 1–2 person tent.

🏕️ Pitching Notes
Outer-first pitching is a plus in Scottish weather. Here’s how I do it:
- Insert poles into outer flysheet
- Stake out the front and rear guylines, this holds the shape
- Peg down the rest of the outer
- Clip in the inner (can be left attached between uses)
Once you get used to it, it’s quick – takes me less than 10 minutes for a cleanly pitched tent.
💧 Weather Performance
This OLPRO Beckford tent is 4-season, so should be able to handle all the weathers.
I’ve been out during one stormy night with this tent so far, full rain and some thunder for several hours. Everything stayed dry inside. No wet seams, no moisture build-up. The front tent porch kept dry, even with rain coming in at an angle. Groundsheet worked well on soggy forest floor.
On hot / humid evenings you can keep the outer flysheet open or half unzipped. No moisture inside tent – I do live in Scotland though it doesn’t get crazy hot even during Summer.
🛌 Space and Comfort
The inner is long enough for me to stretch out fully with room (I’m 5’10”). Enough headroom to sit up and change. The porch area is small, good for boots and some accessories.
This is sold as a 2-person tent. I’d call it ideal for one person plus full gear / large bag inside the tent. Perfect for a couple to spend the night in, you’ll be close to each other.
Inside there is a light hook near the roof. Some reviews said otherwise!

(the sleeping mat inside this tent is the OEX Traverse 2.5 Sleeping Mat)
📦 Pack Size
This tent packs down surprisingly small for a 2-person model. When compressed in the included bag with straps, it’s roughly the size of a loaf of bread and a half. Now that’s a good measurement to imagine!… You might be glad I have photos of pack size below!

🧾 Wrapping Up
I used this tent for walking The Great Glen Way (over 5 days) 2 weeks ago and really I have nothing bad to say about it. For long distance trails, I will be moving to a lighter tent, but this tent will be what I use for anything local.
The OLPRO 2-Person tent is comfortable and reliable. During winter, pair this tent with a 4-season bag and a mat with a solid R-value.
