Munros & Hills

Ben Nevis

Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK, is not actually the hardest climb in Scotland. It’s a 4-6 hour rewarding hike, and your views will really depend on the weather that day.

Ben Lomond

Ben Lomond is the tallest and best Munro near Loch Lomond. This truly is one of the best Munro’s for any beginner for difficulty vs reward views with the stunning views.

Conic Hill

Conic Hill is accessible from Balmaha, which is near Loch Lomond. It’s also an optional route for those walking the West Highland Way, which spans from Glasgow to Fort William.

The Pentlands

The Pentland Hills are the huge hills South West of Edinburgh, containing 5 peaks, and is the best place for anyone to be wild-camping if you live nearby.

Locations

Glen Coe

Glen Coe is a Western side village in the Scottish Highlands. It has very distinct peaks, waterfalls and hidden areas for exploring or wild camping. Driving or hiking through Glen Coe is always a memorable experience for the beautiful views.

Kinlochleven

Kinlochleven astounded me with its beauty while I was walking the West Highland Way. It is like a hidden gem village in the Scottish Highlands. I spent the night here and then walked on to Fort William to complete my journey.

Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond, part of the Trossachs National Park, is a famous place for many reasons, including being the first place in Scotland to be awarded National Park status in 2022. If walking past it, I’ll take the Low Road & you can take the High Road.

Pitlochry

Pitlochry is a place many of us visit for a small scenic break that is family friendly and in the heart of Scotland. There’s a variety of great walks, pubs & restaurants, and lots of small local activities to join.

Balmaha

Balmaha is a very small village east of Loch Lomond. Travellers of the West Highland Way pass through this place, and it has the optional climb of Conic Hill to offer, as well as a pub/restaurant and wee shop.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh is the place I live, and I’ve been here since very early years of life, with my family travelling down from Fraserburgh. I love living in Edinburgh, it’s one of the best cities to reside in Scotland.
